Technology Management Jobs and MBA Programs in Wyoming

Technology managers can find success in Wyoming as the state has plenty of educational and employment prospects. There are currently 190 jobs for technology managers in Wyoming and this is projected to grow by 18 percent to 220 jobs by 2016. This is better than the national trend for technology managers, which sees the job pool growing at about 16 percent over the next 10 years. In general, technology managers create and implement information systems for a client firm and supervise their maintenance.

In Wyoming, the income for technology managers is $33 per hour or $68,000 per year. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $57 hourly or $118,000 per year on average.

Also known as the Equality State, Wyoming has a population of 544,270. It has grown by 10.2 percent in the last 10 years. Cheyenne is the state capital. In 2008, there were a total of 404,855 jobs and at $48,580, the average annual income in Wyoming was higher than the previous year's per capita figure of $46,726. The unemployment rate in Wyoming was 6.4 percent in 2009. It rose by 3.2 percentage points from the previous year. Roughly 21.9 percent of state residents have college degrees. This is below the national average.

Mining, mining (except oil), crude petroleum gas extraction and coal mining are the top employing fields in Wyoming.

While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, the largest coal mine in the USA is Black Thunder located near Wright.

Technology managers create and implement information systems for a client firm and supervise their maintenance.

While working, they evaluate data processing proposals to gauge project feasibility and requirements. Also, they inspect and approve all systems charts and programs before their implementation.

They are required to evaluate the effectiveness of systems in order to improve their performance. Also, they must pay attention to ongoing situations and monitor them as they develop.

Technology managers should be able to read and understand documents and reports and articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, technology managers must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
