Indiana is a great place to settle for technology managers as there are many educational and employment prospects. The job pool for technology managers in Indiana is growing and currently sits at 4,090. A projected rise of 13 percent in employment opportunities will make the figure 4,710 jobs by 2016. This is lower than the national growth trend for technology managers. National projections showing a rise of just 16 percent over the next 10 years. Technology managers create and implement information systems for a client firm and supervise their maintenance.

Technology managers earn $46 per hour or $95,000 per year on average in Indiana. Nationally, their income is $57 hourly or $118,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Hoosier State, Indiana has a population of 6,423,113, which has grown by 5.6 percent in the last 10 years. The state capital is Indianapolis. There were a total of 3,718,148 jobs in 2008 and people in Indiana earned more than the previous year as the average annual income was $34,543, up from $33,702. The unemployment rate in Indiana was 10.1 percent in 2009, which has grown by 4.3 percentage points since the previous year. One of the many things Indiana is known for, Most of the state's rivers flow south and west, eventually emptying into the Mississippi. However, the Maumee flows north and east into Lake Erie. Lake Wawasee is the states largest natural lake. Indiana has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Crawfordsville is the home of the only known working rotary jail in the United States. The jail with its rotating cellblock was built in 1882 and served as the Montgomery County jail until 1972. It is now a museum.

In order to be successful in the workplace, technology managers must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
