A seven percent bump in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 4,500 by 2016. This is lower than the national growth trend for agents. National projections showing a rise of just 22 percent over the next 10 years. Agents represent and promote artists, performers, and athletes to prospective employers and handle contract negotiation and other business matters for clients.

The income for agents is $46 per hour or $96,000 per year on average in Tennessee. Nationally, their income is $39 hourly or $81,000 per year on average.

Tennessee, nicknamed the Volunteer State, has seen its population grow 10.7 percent to 6,296,254 over the last decade. Nashville is the state capital.
