This growth is similar to the national trend for food service managers, which sees the job pool increasing by the same percentage. Food service managers plan, direct, or coordinate activities of an organization or department that serves food and beverages.

The income for food service managers is $24 per hour or $49,000 per year on average in Vermont. Nationally, their income is $24 hourly or $50,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Green Mountain State, Vermont is home to 621,760 people. It's population has increased 2.1 percent over the last 10 years. The state capital is Montpelier. In 2008, there were a total of 434,917 jobs and at $38,700, the average annual income in Vermont was higher than the previous year's per capita figure of $37,735. The unemployment rate in Vermont was 6.9 percent in 2009. It rose by 2.4 percentage points from the previous year. Roughly 29.4 percent of state residents have college degrees. This exceeds the national average.

The top employing fields in Vermont include computer product manufacturing, nonupholstered wood household furniture manufacturing, sporting goods merchant wholesalers and fixture manufacturing.

While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, Montpelier, is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S. One of the unique tidbits about Vermont is Montpelier, Vermont is the only U.S. state capital without a McDonalds.

They are required to look for ways to help others. Also, they must respond to the actions of other and coordinate activities with them.

Food service managers must be able to articulate ideas and problems. They should also have the ability to listen to and understand others in meetings.

In order to be successful in the workplace, food service managers must have exceptional integrity and be able to take change and lead.
