There are plenty of job and employment prospects for organizational managers in Maryland. In Maryland, there are currently 17,700 jobs for organizational managers and this is projected to grow by 13 percent to 26,680 jobs by 2016. This growth falls short of the projected rise of the national job pool for organizational managers, which shows an increase of 23 percent over the next 10 years. In general, organizational managers manage organizational studies and design systems and procedures to help an organization operate more efficiently and effectively.

State figures show that organizational managers in Maryland earn $39 per hour or $81,000 per year on average. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $40 hourly or $82,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Old Line State, Maryland is home to 5,699,478 people. It's population has increased 7.6 percent over the last 10 years. The state capital is Annapolis. There were 3,471,985 total jobs in 2008 and workers in Maryland earned more than the previous year with an average annual income of $48,164, up from $46,922. The unemployment rate in Maryland was 7.0 percent in 2009. It went up by 2.6 percentage points since the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 31.4 percent. This surpasses the national average.

The top employing fields in Maryland include engineering services, radio broadcasting communications equipment manufacturing, photofinishing and photofinishing laboratories (except one-hour).

While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, Swallow Falls State Park near Oakland showcases Muddy Creek Falls. At 63 feet it is the largest waterfall in Maryland. One of the unique tidbits about Maryland is Fort Meade near Laurel became a base because a train engineer delivering soldiers to Meade knew only one Meade, the one in Maryland. He was not aware of Fort Meade, Florida. The confusion happened so often a second base was built in Maryland in an attempt to avoid the confusion.

In order to be successful in the workplace, organizational managers must be reliable and be able to absorb the factors involved and a problem and provide a well thought out solution.
