Operations Management Jobs and MBA Programs in Delaware

Operations managers can find success in Delaware as the state has plenty of educational and employment prospects. There are currently 4,180 jobs for operations managers in Delaware and that number is growing. A projected rise of one percent in employment opportunities will make the figure 4,500 jobs by 2016. This is above a steady national projection. In general, operations managers create and execute project work plans and revise to meet changing needs and identify resources needed to complete project.

In Delaware, the income for operations managers is $60 per hour or $125,000 per year. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $52 hourly or $107,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the First State, Delaware has a population of 885,122, which has grown by 13.0 percent in the last 10 years. Dover is the state capital. There were a total of 553,149 jobs in 2008 and people in Delaware earned more than the previous year as the average annual income was $40,375, up from $39,932. The unemployment rate in Delaware was 8.1 percent in 2009, which has grown by 3.2 percentage points since the previous year. Roughly 25.0 percent of Delaware residents have college degrees, which is lower than the national average.

Nondurable goods merchant wholesalers, management of companies, management of companies and offices of other holding companies are the top employing fields in Delaware.

One of the many things Delaware is known for, Rehoboth Beach is the state's largest coastal resort town. Methodists who purchase the land for a summer camp and meeting place originally constructed it. Delaware has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Delaware is the only state without any National Park System units such as national parks, seashores, historic sites, battlefields, memorials, and monuments.

While working, they oversee the movement of goods into and out of production facilities and decide on staffing requirements and interview hire and train new employees.

They are required to respond to the actions of other and coordinate activities with them. Also, they must listen well to others and take in their information and issues.

Operations managers should be able to listen to and understand others in meetings and articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, operations managers must be reliable and be able to take change and lead.
