For non-profit and government managers in Ohio, the job pool is currently 4,010 and climbing. A 25 percent bump in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 4,170 by 2016. This exceeds the national growth trend for non-profit and government managers. National projections show a rise of just 13 percent over the next 10 years. Non-profit and government managers supervise the activities of a social service program or community outreach organization and oversee areas such as budget and policy creation.

The income for non-profit and government managers is $29 per hour or $59,000 per year on average in Ohio. Nationally, their income is $29 hourly or $60,000 per year on average.

Ohio, nicknamed the Buckeye State, has seen its population grow 1.7 percent to 11,542,645 over the last decade. The capital is Columbus. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 6,819,050 and the average annual income in Ohio was $35,889, which is up from $35,174 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 10.2 percent in 2009, a jump of 3.6 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 21.1 percent, which is under the national average.

In Ohio, the top employers are in fabricated metal product manufacturing, soap detergent manufacturing, forging and other rubber product manufacturing.

One of the many things Ohio is known for, Columbus is the state capital and Ohio's largest city. Ohio has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is The Y Bridge in Zanesville was first built in 1814 to span the confluence of the Licking and Muskingum Rivers. The current bridge is the fifth construction at the same location. "Ripley's Believe It or Not" proclaimed it the only bridge in the world which you can cross and still be on the same side of the river.

They are required to note the reactions and responses of others in both work and social situations. Also, they must pay attention to ongoing situations and monitor them as they develop.

Non-profit and government managers must be able to articulate ideas and problems. They should also have the ability to listen to and understand others in meetings.

In order to be successful in the workplace, non-profit and government managers must have exceptional integrity and have a strong concern for others.
