Marketing managers determine the demand for products and services offered by a firm and its competitors and identify potential customers and develop strategies for maximizing profits while ensuring customer satisfaction.

The income for marketing managers is $49 per hour or $102,000 per year on average in Oregon. Nationally, their income is $57 hourly or $118,000 per year on average.

Oregon, nicknamed the Beaver State, has seen its population grow 11.8 percent to 3,825,657 over the last decade. The capital is Salem. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 2,339,488 and the average annual income in Oregon was $36,365, which is up from $35,737 the previous year. They are required to talk through and persuade others when needed and speak clearly and communicate with others.

Marketing managers should be able to listen to and understand others in meetings and articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, marketing managers must be reliable and be thorough and dependable.
