Those looking for careers as operating officers should consider the educational and employment opportunities in New Hampshire. There are currently 3,260 jobs for operating officers in New Hampshire and that number is growing. A four percent bump in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 6,290 by 2016. This increase goes against the national trend for operating officers. National projections show a decline of one percent over the next 10 years. Operating officers recognize and create policies for the overall direction of companies or private and public sector organizations.

The income for operating officers is $80 per hour or $166,000 per year on average in New Hampshire. Nationally, their income is $77 hourly or $160,000 per year on average.
New Hampshire, nicknamed the Granite State, has seen its population grow 7.2 percent to 1,324,575 over the last decade. Concord is the state capital. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 857,040 and the average annual income in New Hampshire was $43,423, which is up from $42,665 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 6.3 percent in 2009, a jump of 2.4 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 28.7 percent, which is above the national average.
Retail trade, motor vehicle dealers, automobile dealers and new car dealers are the top employing fields in New Hampshire.
There are certain facts unique to New Hampshire. For example, New Hampshire is the only state that ever played host at the formal conclusion of a foreign war. In 1905, Portsmouth was the scene of the treaty ending the Russo-Japanese War. New Hampshire was the birthplace of several prominent figures such as the Irish-born American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens lived and worked in Cornish from 1885 until his death at age 59 in 1907.
Operating officers recognize and create policies for the overall direction of companies or private and public sector organizations.
They regularly present data at meetings or conventions to promote services and accomplish objectives and direct business or departmental efforts concerned with the production or distribution of products.
They are required to evaluate and judge the efficacy of solutions and manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources.
Operating officers should be able to think through problems and come up with general rules and piece together evidence to, in some sense, diagnose what is going on in a situation.
In order to be successful in the workplace, operating officers must have exceptional integrity and want to innovate to meet new challenges.
