Texas, nicknamed the Lone Star State, has seen its population grow 18.8 percent to 24,782,302 over the last decade. The capital is Austin. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 14,469,900 and the average annual income in Texas was $37,809, which is up from $36,838 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 7.6 percent in 2009, a jump of 2.7 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 23.2 percent, which is under the national average.

In Texas, the top employers are in petroleum products merchant wholesalers, petroleum products merchant wholesalers (except bulk stations), other basic organic chemical manufacturing and computer equipment manufacturing.

One of the many things Texas is known for, Texas boasts the nation's largest herd of whitetail deer. Texas has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Texas is the only state to have the flags of 6 different nations fly over it. They are: Spain, France, Mexico, Republic of Texas, Confederate States, and the United States.

They are required to direct the development of teams and individuals with the aim of problem solving and task completion and listen well to others and take in their information and issues.

Human relations managers should be able to listen to and understand others in meetings and understand what others are saying to them even in a noisy environment.

In order to be successful in the workplace, human relations managers must have exceptional integrity and be able to take change and lead.
