The job pool for general managers in Rhode Island is shrinking and currently sits at 5,580. A one percent dip in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 7,130 by 2016. State figures show that general managers in Rhode Island earn $54 per hour or $112,000 per year on average. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $52 hourly or $107,000 per year on average.

Rhode Island, nicknamed the Ocean State, has seen its population grow 0.5 percent to 1,053,209 over the last decade. Providence is the state capital. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 612,258 and the average annual income in Rhode Island was $41,261, which is up from $40,147 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 11.2 percent in 2009, a jump of 3.6 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 25.6 percent, which is under the national average.

One of the many things Rhode Island is known for, the world's largest bug is on the roof of New England Pest Control in Providence. It's a big blue termite, 58 feet long and 928 times actual termite size. Rhode Island has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge in Foster is the only remaining covered bridge in Rhode Island.
