Kentucky has plenty of educational and career opportunities for executive officers. There are currently 4,850 jobs for executive officers in Kentucky and that number is growing. A 12 percent bump in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 8,510 by 2016. This increase goes against the national trend for executive officers. National projections show a decline of one percent over the next 10 years. Executive officers recognize and create policies for the overall direction of companies or private and public sector organizations.

The income for executive officers is $71 per hour or $146,000 per year on average in Kentucky. Nationally, their income is $77 hourly or $160,000 per year on average.

Kentucky, nicknamed the Bluegrass State, has seen its population grow 6.7 percent to 4,314,113 over the last decade. Frankfort is the state capital. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 2,442,252 and the average annual income in Kentucky was $31,936, which is up from $31,060 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 10.5 percent in 2009, a jump of 3.9 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 17.1 percent, which is under the national average.

Tobacco product merchant wholesalers, alumina production, couriers and couriers are the top employing fields in Kentucky.

One of the many things Kentucky is known for, Thunder Over Louisville is the opening ceremony for the Kentucky Derby Festival and is the world's largest fireworks display.
