Entrepreneurship Jobs and MBA Programs in Louisiana

Louisiana has plenty of educational and career opportunities for entrepreneurs. There are currently 34,920 jobs for entrepreneurs in Louisiana and that number is growing. A eight percent bump in the number of jobs is projected to put the figure at 41,700 by 2016. This is above a steady national projection. In general, entrepreneurs create and execute project work plans and revise to meet changing needs and identify resources needed to complete project.

State figures show that entrepreneurs in Louisiana earn $45 per hour or $92,000 per year on average. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $52 hourly or $107,000 per year on average.

Louisiana, nicknamed the Pelican State, has seen its population grow 0.5 percent to 4,492,076 over the last decade. Baton Rouge is the state capital. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 2,576,960 and the average annual income in Louisiana was $36,091, which is up from $35,340 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 6.8 percent in 2009, a jump of 2.3 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 18.7 percent, which is under the national average.

Petroleum products manufacturing, petroleum refineries, basic chemical manufacturing and natural gas liquid extraction are the top employing fields in Louisiana.

Having known landmarks is a staple for Louisiana. Louisiana has the tallest state capitol building in the United States; the building is 450 feet tall with 34 floors. While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, The Superdome in New Orleans is the world's largest steel-constructed room unobstructed by posts.

In order to be successful in the workplace, entrepreneurs must be reliable and be able to take change and lead.
