Engineering managers can find prosperity in Oregon as the state has an abundance of educational and career opportunities. There are currently 2,490 jobs for engineering managers in Oregon and that number is growing. A projected rise of five percent in employment opportunities will make the figure 3,520 jobs by 2016. This is lower than the national growth trend for engineering managers. National projections showing a rise of just six percent over the next 10 years. Engineering managers plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as architecture and engineering or research and development in these fields.

Engineering managers earn $57 per hour or $118,000 per year on average in Oregon. Nationally, their income is $58 hourly or $120,000 per year on average.

Engineering managers must be able to read and understand documents and reports. They should also have the ability to articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, engineering managers must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
