Education Jobs and MBA Programs in Ohio

Ohio is a good place to settle for education administrators as there are many educational and career opportunities. At 2,480, the number of jobs in Ohio for education administrators is projected to rise nine percent to 2,880 jobs by 2016. This is better than the national trend for education administrators, which sees the job pool growing at about two percent over the next 10 years. In general, education administrators plan, direct, or coordinate research, instructional, student administration and services, and other educational activities at postsecondary institutions, including universities, and junior and community colleges.

State figures show that education administrators in Ohio earn $51 per hour or $106,000 per year on average. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $45 hourly or $92,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Buckeye State, Ohio has a population of 11,542,645. It has grown by 1.7 percent in the last 10 years. Columbus is the state capital. There were 6,819,050 total jobs in 2008 and workers in Ohio earned more than the previous year with an average annual income of $35,889, up from $35,174. The unemployment rate in Ohio was 10.2 percent in 2009. It went up by 3.6 percentage points since the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 21.1 percent. This is below the national average.

Fabricated metal product manufacturing, soap detergent manufacturing, forging and other rubber product manufacturing are the top employing fields in Ohio.

While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, Columbus is the state capital and Ohio's largest city. One of the unique tidbits about Ohio is The Y Bridge in Zanesville was first built in 1814 to span the confluence of the Licking and Muskingum Rivers. The current bridge is the fifth construction at the same location. "Ripley's Believe It or Not" proclaimed it the only bridge in the world which you can cross and still be on the same side of the river.

While working, they often recruit and terminate departmental personnel and participate in faculty and college committee efforts.

They are required to pay attention to ongoing situations and monitor them as they develop and listen well to others and take in their information and issues.

Education administrators should be able to articulate ideas and problems and listen to and understand others in meetings.

In order to be successful in the workplace, education administrators must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
