Economics Jobs and MBA Programs in Vermont

The education and job opportunities are plentiful for economic analysts in Vermont. Figures show 750 jobs for economic analysts in Vermont and the job pool is projected to rise by seven percent over the next 10 years nationally. In general, economic analysts conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

In Vermont, the income for economic analysts is $51 per hour or $105,000 per year. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Green Mountain State, Vermont has a population of 621,760. It's population has increased 2.1 percent over the last 10 years. The state capital is Montpelier. In 2008, there were a total of 434,917 jobs and at $38,700, the average annual income in Vermont was higher than the previous year's per capita figure of $37,735. The unemployment rate in Vermont was 6.9 percent in 2009. It rose by 2.4 percentage points from the previous year. Roughly 29.4 percent of state residents have college degrees. This exceeds the national average.

The top employing fields in Vermont include computer product manufacturing, nonupholstered wood household furniture manufacturing, sporting goods merchant wholesalers and fixture manufacturing.

While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, Montpelier, is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S. One of the unique tidbits about Vermont is Montpelier, Vermont is the only U.S. state capital without a McDonalds.

Economics

Economic analysts conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

While working, they recommend investments and investment timing. Also, they analyze financial information to forecast economic conditions.

They are required to manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources and evaluate and judge the efficacy of solutions.

Economic analysts must be able to evaluate problems as they arise. They should also have the ability to articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, economic analysts must have exceptional integrity and believe in cooperation and coordination.
