Economics Jobs and MBA Programs in Idaho

Many educational and employment opportunities are available for economic analysts in Idaho. There are currently 3,030 jobs for economic analysts in Idaho and according to national projections, the job pool will rise by seven percent over the next 10 years. Economic analysts conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

The income for economic analysts is $35 per hour or $73,000 per year on average in Idaho. Nationally, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

Idaho, nicknamed the Gem State, has seen its population grow 19.5 percent to 1,545,801 over the last decade. The state capital is Boise. In 2008, the total number of jobs was 939,793 and the average annual income in Idaho was $32,994, which is up from $32,837 the previous year. Unemployment increased to 8.0 percent in 2009, a jump of 3.1 percentage points from the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 21.7 percent, which is under the national average.

The top employing fields in Idaho include semiconductor electronic component manufacturing, fruit preserving food manufacturing, frozen food manufacturing and vegetable manufacturing.

Having known landmarks is a staple for Idaho. Bruneau Dunes State Park contains North America's tallest single structured sand dune. It stands 470 feet high. While being known for many things, one of the most noteworthy, Rexburg is home to Ricks College, the largest private two-year college in the nation.

Economics

Economic analysts conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

While working, they recommend investments and investment timing. Also, they analyze financial information to forecast economic conditions.

They are required to manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources and evaluate and judge the efficacy of solutions.

Economic analysts must be able to evaluate problems as they arise. They should also have the ability to articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, economic analysts must have exceptional integrity and believe in cooperation and coordination.
