Figures show 2,290 jobs for economic analysts in Hawaii and the national job pool is slated to rise by seven percent over the next 10 years. Economic analysts conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

Economic analysts earn $40 per hour or $83,000 per year on average in Hawaii. Nationally, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Aloha State, Hawaii has a population of 1,295,178, which has grown by 6.9 percent in the last 10 years. The capital is Honolulu. There were a total of 873,749 jobs in 2008 and people in Hawaii earned more than the previous year as the average annual income was $42,078, up from $40,924. The unemployment rate in Hawaii was 6.8 percent in 2009, which has grown by 2.8 percentage points since the previous year. Roughly 26.2 percent of Hawaii residents have college degrees, which is lower than the national average.

In order to be successful in the workplace, economic analysts must have exceptional integrity and believe in cooperation and coordination.
