Business Economics Jobs and MBA Programs in Delaware

Delaware has an abundance of educational and career opportunities for controllers. There are currently 2,140 jobs for controllers in Delaware and the national job pool is slated to rise by seven percent over the next 10 years. Controllers conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

Controllers earn $60 per hour or $124,000 per year on average in Delaware. Nationally, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the First State, Delaware has a population of 885,122, which has grown by 13.0 percent in the last 10 years. Dover is the state capital. There were a total of 553,149 jobs in 2008 and people in Delaware earned more than the previous year as the average annual income was $40,375, up from $39,932. The unemployment rate in Delaware was 8.1 percent in 2009, which has grown by 3.2 percentage points since the previous year. Roughly 25.0 percent of Delaware residents have college degrees, which is lower than the national average.

Nondurable goods merchant wholesalers, management of companies, management of companies and offices of other holding companies are the top employing fields in Delaware.

One of the many things Delaware is known for, Rehoboth Beach is the state's largest coastal resort town. Methodists who purchase the land for a summer camp and meeting place originally constructed it. Delaware has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Delaware is the only state without any National Park System units such as national parks, seashores, historic sites, battlefields, memorials, and monuments.

They regularly inform investment decisions by analyzing financial information and track organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies, and current accounting standards.

They are required to manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources and evaluate and judge the efficacy of solutions.

Controllers should be able to evaluate problems as they arise and articulate ideas and problems.

In order to be successful in the workplace, controllers must have exceptional integrity and be able to absorb the factors involved and a problem and provide a well thought out solution.
