Financial managers can find prosperity in Vermont as the state has an abundance of educational and career opportunities. For financial managers, there are 750 jobs in Vermont and the national job pool is slated to rise by seven percent over the next 10 years. Financial managers conduct research, prepare reports and formulate plans to aid in solution of economic problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services.

Financial managers earn $51 per hour or $105,000 per year on average in Vermont. Nationally, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

With a population of 621,760, Vermont, also called Green Mountain State, has grown by 2.1 percent in the last 10 years. Montpelier is the state capital. There were a total of 434,917 jobs in 2008 and people in Vermont earned more than the previous year as the average annual income was $38,700, up from $37,735. Unemployment in Vermont jumped by 2.4 percentage points to 6.9 percent in 2009. Roughly 29.4 percent of Vermont residents have college degrees, which is higher than the national average.

Computer product manufacturing, nonupholstered wood household furniture manufacturing, sporting goods merchant wholesalers and fixture manufacturing are the top employing fields in Vermont.

One of the many things Vermont is known for, Montpelier, is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S. Vermont has many unique characteristics, but one fun fact in particular is Montpelier, Vermont is the only U.S. state capital without a McDonalds.

While working, they advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives and actions and prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts and reports required by regulatory agencies.

They are required to manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources. Also, they must listen well to others and take in their information and issues.

Financial managers should be able to articulate ideas and problems and read and understand documents and reports.

In order to be successful in the workplace, financial managers must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
