State figures show that financial managers in North Carolina earn $51 per hour or $105,000 per year on average. In the U.S. as a whole, their income is $53 hourly or $110,000 per year on average.

Nicknamed the Tar Heel State, North Carolina is home to 9,380,884 people. It has seen its population grow by 16.5 percent over the last 10 years. The capital is Raleigh. There were 5,497,808 total jobs in 2008 and workers in North Carolina earned more than the previous year with an average annual income of $35,249, up from $34,865. The unemployment rate in North Carolina was 10.6 percent in 2009. It went up by 4.4 percentage points since the previous year. The number of residents with a college degree is 22.5 percent. This falls short of the national average.

In North Carolina, the top employers are in beverage product manufacturing, tobacco manufacturing, pharmaceutical preparation manufacturing and apparel manufacturing.

North Carolina is known for having important landmarks. Fontana Dam is the tallest dam in the Eastern United States, at 480 feet high. One of the many things North Carolina is known for, Cape Hatteras is the largest lighthouse ever to be moved due to erosion problems.

While working, they advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives and actions and prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts and reports required by regulatory agencies.

They are required to manage and maintain budgets and other financial resources. Also, they must listen well to others and take in their information and issues.

Financial managers should be able to articulate ideas and problems and read and understand documents and reports.

In order to be successful in the workplace, financial managers must have exceptional integrity and be reliable.
